A short description of Forestry - Thunder Bay Campus

Modern Forestry is about acquiring and applying the knowledge that will sustain our forest resources and landscapes with all their associated values - for generations to come. As a Forestry student, you will acquire a distinct combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills combining information management, technology, business and the natural sciences. These are needed to create environmentally appropriate, meaningful and lasting solutions for the challenges presented by a changing climate, economy and population. In your third year of study, you will have the opportunity to specialize in one of three areas Forest Management, Forest Health and Protection or Forest Products and Marketing. Our HBScF program is nationally accredited and meets the academic standards for becoming a Registered Professional Forester anywhere in Canada.
