Economics

A short description of Economics

BA, BA (Economics with Mathematics or Political Science Majors), HBA (Economics and Political Science), MA

Economics is the essence of human material existence. Economics studies the resource and social choices we make and how we respond to incentives and information and coordinate our responses to these factors via the institution of markets. Economics is exciting, exhilarating and just plain fun. Lakehead’s Economics program equips students with core courses in economic theory, statistics and quantitative analysis and then combines them with field and specialty courses focused on labour, natural resources and industrial organization.

Students majoring in Economics may opt for the three-year Bachelor of Arts program or the four-year Honours Bachelor of Arts. It is also possible to combine your specialization in Economics with studies in Political Science, Mathematics or Business Administration.
