Why Choose Lakehead?
|
My favourite
Lakehead hang out would be the Outpost. I love the atmosphere there.
As for studying, if I'm with a group of people, we usually book a
library room and if I am by myself, I either go to the 3rd floor of the
library in the cubicles or the 5th floor of the ATAC.
Outside of school I like to go out and have fun with my friends and go on nice, relaxing walks." |

"I chose to come to Lakehead because of the great tradition and reputation of the education program as well as the beautiful city it is located in. Lakehead is the right school for me because I feel like an important student through constant interaction with my professors and not just a number like you may feel at some larger institutions. Lakehead's Thunder Bay campus is in a great town with a lot of entertaining things to see and do. The scenery in the area is like nothing I have ever seen before growing up in Southern Ontario. If you want a great university experience as well as the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, then Lakehead is a great choice for you! Being a Geography and Education student, I find that my program is very rewarding. The Educational Experience that I have received in the years that have passed has been more than I ever expected it would be.Outside of the classroom I enjoy fishing and camping in the summer months within the Northwestern Ontario region and in the winter, I am very busy with the Thunderwolves Varsity Hockey program here at Lakehead." |

"The best thing about Lakehead
University-Orillia Campus is the professors know our names and we've
been able to get to know the professors on a personal level and form
friendships with them.
When not in class or completing assignments, I enjoy being a part of the Lakehead University-Orillia Campus rowing team. With fellow education major and partner Samantha Umney-Gray, we competed in the Varsity Women's Double event at the 2006 Head of Trent Regatta in Peterborough, ON. I encourage new students to "Come and join the Team". I also spend time tutoring grade 1, 2 & 3 students in reading and math at a school close to my home in Washago. I look forward to the fall when new students will help our campus grow." |
