Thunder Bay Campus:
- New Program: The Honours Bachelor of Environmental Management (HBEM) has been announced by the Faculty of Natural Resources Management, replacing the Environmental Studies (Forest Conservation) program, and the Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies, in conjunction with the Economics Department, has launched the Honours Bachelor of Resource and Environmental Economics (HBScRee) program.
- The Faculty of Forestry and the Forestry Environment has been renamed the Faculty of Natural Resources Management to better reflect the many areas in which the faculty is engaged, including climate change adaptation, wildlife, conservation, preparation for teacher's college, aboriginal issues, forest science and management, Crown land policy, commodities and value-added wood products, international resource conservation, remote sensing and GIS, conflict resolution, forest health, community interaction, urban forests, ecology ... and more.
- Lakehead has acquired the formerly known historical PACI building on Red River Road, and will start to offer programs there soon
- Working on the establishment of the proposed Law School to be based at the Thunder Bay Campus
Orillia Campus:
- Construction of the first new Academic Building at 500 University Avenue is DONE! - students begun classes there September 2010.
- Criminology, Environmental Studies, and Media Studies has been added to the list of available specializations in the HBASc and HBASc/BEd programs
- New Majors have been introduced for the HBASc and HBASc/BEd programs including: Anthropology, English, Environmental Sustainability, Interdisciplinary Studies, and Geography.
- The 1 Year Bachelor of Education program is offered at the P/J division
- The full 4 year HBSW (Social Work) is available direct from high school
